Apple Thief is is a great little project if you are familiar with the basic embroidery, are new to crewel work and would like to try a couple of more complex stitches.
Apple Thief was such a fun little project for me to do. At first, I just embroidered the cheeky goat as a sampler for my much bigger ‘Mountain Oak’ design. Once the goat was done, I played around, adding the apple tree and the hills. The design is stitched onto Italian linen using 11 mostly basic embroidery stitches to create texture and patterns within the design.
The kit includes everything you need to complete the embroidery and the detailed instructions and diagrams will help guide you step by step through the project.
The size of the fabric panel makes Apple Thief perfect to use it as a decorative pocket on a work bag which is what I did. It would work equally well as an insert on a small pillow or would look super cute frames for a child’s bedroom
I hope you will have as much fun embroidering your Apple Thief as I did.
Happy Stitching, Anna
