Blue Petals is a designed as an EASY introduction to Crewel work. It is a great project if you are new to crewel work and have little or no embroidery experience.

Blue Petals was inspired by the fabulous foliage often seen in traditional Jacobean crewel work. To achieve a more contemporary look, the design is stitched in a fresh colour palette of aqua, blues and greens with highlights of raspberry pink.

The embroidery is stitched small selection of common embroidery stitches as well as a simple laid trellis filling which is so distinct to this type of work.

The kit includes everything you need to complete the embroidery and the detailed instructions and diagrams will help guide you step by step through the project.

The size of the fabric panel makes Blue Petals ideal to use it as a decorative pocket on a work bag, or perhaps a practical large needle book.
