Autumn Gold is a good introduction to Crewel work. It is a perfect project if you are comfortable with common embroidery stitches but have only little or no experience with crewel work.
Autumn Gold was inspired by a pile of glorious gold yarns on my table. It is a smaller and simpler version my Jacobean Leaves.
The leaves are embroidered using a variety of interesting stitches and stitch combinations to create textures and patterns within the shapes.
The kit includes everything you need to complete the embroidery and the detailed instructions and diagrams will help guide you step by step through the project.
The size of the fabric panel makes Autumn Gold suitable for a decorative pillow insert or you may like to use it as a decorative pocket on a work bag or perhaps a cover for your tablet.
