Dawn Chorus is suitable for embroiders with a little experience. This is an ideal project if you are familiar with the basics of crewel work and are looking for a slightly large and more involved project.
Dawn Chorus is embroidered in freshly coloured wool, featuring a chirpy bird is welcoming a new day with his song.
The embroidery is stitched onto linen, using mostly basic embroidery stitches, with just a few less common such as trellis couching, wheat-ear stitch and whipped spider’s web for added texture and interest within the design. The Dawn Chorus panel is the perfect size and shape for a small tote bag and also looks gorgeous framed.
The detailed instructions and diagrams will help guide you step by step through the project however, you might find it helpful to have a stitch directory at hand – I always do.
I hope you will get as much pleasure embroidering your Dawn Chorus as I did.
Happy Stitching, Anna
