Introduction to Goldwork 
* Intermediate Beginner *

Marguerite is designed as an introduction to goldwork. It is a great choice if you have little or no prior experience with metal thread embroidery. However, some experience with general surface embroidery is recommended.

The front of the pinwheel feature a stylized Marguerite daisy on a curly stem with decorative scalloped edge leaves. The stem and a single leaf is repeated on the back leaving room in the centre to add your initials.

Requirements

  • Good quality beeswax
  • Light coloured sewing thread
  • Magic tape
  • Sharp-pointed scissors for metal threads – don’t ruin your good pair
  • Fine embroidery scissors
  • Baking (or tracing) paper
  • Fine permanent acid-free pen (or very sharp pencil)
  • Pointed tweezers

Helpful but not essential:

  • Velvet board
