Stars of Winter is the perfect project if you have no prior experience with hand embroidery however and would like good introduction to basic embroidery stitches.

Stars of Winter was inspired by a Scandinavian Vintage pillow I saw online. I loved the simple flower shapes and the colour combination of crisp white and winter blues with little splashes of bright red and yellow.

Stars of Winter is designed with the beginner-embroiderer in mind. The flowers and leaves are embroidered in stranded cotton using 10 of the most common embroidery stitches. The kit includes everything you need to complete the embroidery and the detailed instructions and diagrams will help guide you step by step through the project.

I made my Stars of Winter into a pillow, with matching borders and using using pale blue cotton/linen blend fabric for the outer edge and back. The size of the fabric makes the design equally suitable for a small bag, a zipped purse and will look really pretty simply framed.
