Raised Embroidery Kit
The Blue Tailed Whistler is an imaginary brightly coloured stumpwork bird. The embroidery is stitched with stranded silk threads onto a ground of pale blue-grey silk fabric. The body of the bird is embroidered as a separate piece, or slip, before being stitched in place over layers of felt padding. The wing is also created separately before being partly attached to it is raised over the body. Needle lace is used to create the tail feathers and wired leaves add a final touch to the tree the bird is sitting in.
The embroidery design measures 8cm x 10cm wide (3 1/4" x 4").
The embroidery kit includes detailed, step-by-step instructions and everything you need for the embroidery and to complete the embroidery.
You have option to transfer the design yourself using the full-size pattern in the Standard Kit or a Traced Kit where I will trace the design onto the silk for you.
Crewel Embroidery Kit
Thistle & Rose features a symetrical bouquet of thistles, roses and clover flowers. It is embroidered in shades of dusky pink, soft greens and blue-grey as a backdrop for vibrant blue thistle flowers. Accents of sparkly, metallic silver thread add highlights to the design.
The design measures 33cm (13”) square.
The embroidery is stitched using 26 shades of Appleton’s crewel wool and silver metallic threads onto light taupe linen twill, using 26 mostly common embroidery stitches.
The embroidery kit includes everything you need to complete the embroidery.
Goldwork Embroidery Kit
The embroidery design 9.5cm (3 3/4”) in diameter.
The golden Marguerite is embroidered onto watermelon-pink silk with metallic and silk threads. The front of the pinwheel features a stylized marguerite daisy on a curly stem with decorative scalloped edge leaves. The stem and a single leaf are repeated on the back, leaving room in the centre to add your initials.
The project can easily be made into a beautiful ornament simply by adding a hanging loop.
The embroidery kit includes detailed instructions and everything you need for the embroidery and to make the pinwheel.
