SWEET REPOSE is recommended for the Intermediate-Beginner as an introduction to crewl embroidery. It is an ideal project if you are familiar with the basics of crewel embroidery and are looking for a slightly more challenging project.
SWEET REPOSE is a modern take on traditional crewel embroidery. The design was inspired by the fabulous flowers and foliage often seen in historical embroideries. To achieve a fresh, modern look, it is stitched using a colour palette of fresh pinks and greens with a little splash of sunshine yellow.
The detailed instructions and diagrams will help guide you step by step through the project however, instructions for common stitches are not included so you might find it helpful to have a stitch directory at hand.
I made SWEET REPOSE into a rectangular pillow by adding a panel of complementing fabric on each side of the
embroidered panel.
