Marguerite is designed as an introduction to goldwork. It is a great choice if you have little or no prior experience with metal thread embroidery. However, I recommend you have some experience with general surface embroidery.

** Intermediate-Beginner **
Marguerite is designed as an introduction to goldwork. It is a great choice if you have little or no prior experience with metal thread embroidery. However, I recommend you have some experience with general surface embroidery. The design uses a small selection of basic goldwork techniques.
The golden Marguerite is embroidered onto watermelon-pink silk with metallic and silk threads. The front of the pinwheel feature a stylized marguerite daisy on a curly stem with decorative scalloped edge leaves. The stem and a single leaf is repeated on the back leaving room in the centre to add your initials.
The project can easily be made into a beautiful hanging ornament simply by adding a hanging loop.
YOU WILL ALSO NEED:
15cm (6") good quality embroidery hoop, with both rings bound
Weight or small clamp - to hold your hoop or frame
Good quality beeswax
Light coloured sewing thread
Magic tape
Sharp-pointed scissors for metal threads – don’t ruin your good pair
Fine embroidery scissors
Baking (or tracing) paper
Fine permanent acid-free pen (or very sharp pencil)
Pointed tweezers
