$15.00
** Novice Stitcher - AUTUMN GOLD is a fabulous piece for you to try, if you are new to crewel work or wish to practise your skills on a small project.
The embroidery design measures 14cm (5 1/4") square.

The PDF pattern includes:
* Full size embroidery design
* Instructions for design transfer and preparaion
* Detailed and clear step-by-step instructions
* Colour diagrams
* Close-up photographs

YOU WILL NEED:
* 30cm (12") square of 45-count ivory linen
* 9 Shades of crewel wool
* No. 4 crewel needle
* 20cm (8") embroidery hoop with the inner ring bound

Crewel work offers so many possibilities of patterns, stitches and colour – which is what I really love. AUTUMN GOLD is a smaller version of my design AUTUMN LEAVES and was largely inspired by a pile of glorious coloured yarns on my table. The size of this piece is quite manageable and if you don’t want to frame it, it is perfect to make into a small bag or perhaps a tablet cover.
The decorative leaves are embroidered using simple surface embroidery stitches, with interesting variations of chain stitches and my favourite 'small leaf filling stitches'. The detailed instructions and diagrams will help guide you but you may find it handy to have a good stitch directory at hand.

I hope you will get as much pleasure embroidering your AUTUMN GOLD, as I did.
Happy Stitching
