*25cm (10") square of 45-count ivory linen (you may use good quality medium weight cotton)
* 8 crewel yarns
* no.4 crewel needle
* 20cm (8") embroidery hoop

Inspired by traditional Jacobean crewel work this cheerful fantasy bloom is embroidered in aqua, blues and greens with highlights of raspberry pink. A variety of the most common crewel work stitches, including a simple laid filling are used to create texture and dimension to the design. The finished piece is the perfect size for a small small book or journal cover and would look equally lovely on a box lid or as a small framed piece.
