Winter Bright Hellebore is designed as an introduction to raised embroidery also known as stumpwork. It is a good project if you are familir with common embroidery stitches and have a little experience in working with fine threads.
The white hellebore is commonly known as Christmas rose. With its crisp white flowers among the first to bloom in early spring, it is a cheerful reminder that warmer weather is on its way. When looking for ideas for a new class project, I was inspired by the beautiful soft shades in a skein of silk thread. The colours reminded me of the dainty colouring of Hellebore flowers. I used it for the flowers in this project. Winter Bright Hellebore features an elegant stem with multiple raised flowers, buds and leaves. A teeny, tiny ladybug makes her way up the slender stem..
If you wish to start with a smaller project, you can find the Miniature Winter Bright Hellebore HERE.
